What We Do

The Friends of the South Hadley Seniors believe in enhancing the lives of South Hadley’s senior community.  For 40 years we have supported programs and events at South Hadley’s Council on Aging as well as serving South Hadley’s senior community at large.

We fund requests for COA needs that are above and beyond what is covered in the town budget and that will enhance opportunities for seniors. We offer financial assistance for programs and meals to any and all who are in need.

Some of what we have funded in the past includes the following:

  • Entertainment - Freddie Marion, Jimmy Mazz, Sarah the Fiddler, Berkshire Hills Music Academy

  • Activities - Free Bingo with prizes, Jewelry & Card Making, Virtual Paint & Sip

  • Annual Ice Cream Sundae Social

  • Subsidized Meals - Friendsgiving Turkey Dinner, Soup & Popover Meal

  • Items for Stay Home, Stay Safe Bags

  • Photocopying for COA and seniors

  • Holiday Gift Cards and Goodie Bags for seniors who are alone/in need
