The Friends welcome and need volunteers. Whether it is to help out at an event, to prepare holiday bags, to deliver meals or to serve on the Board, we appreciate these gifts of time.
We are a volunteer organization with an all-volunteer Board of Directors who encourage others to give of their time, professional talents and skills in service to our seniors. If you have an interest in serving the senior community by helping out at an event or with a program, or by serving on the Friends’ Board of Directors, please complete the form below.
NEW INITIATIVE: South Hadley Senior Connections (SHSC)
We're looking for volunteers to serve our newly forming "Social Calls" program for seniors in South Hadley. This program will address the mounting evidence that suggests that older adults are disproportionately impacted by loneliness and isolation. SHSC will seek to alleviate chronic loneliness through fun, social phone calls. Regular interactions with seniors have proven to foster a sense of well-being, improve physical and emotional health, and even avoid emergency room and hospital visits.
Are you interested in helping to plan this program or are you someone who would you like to commit to making a regular “social call” to a senior? If so, please volunteer today and BE THE ONE to MAKE A DIFFERENCE!!
To learn more about how to get involved, please contact Karen Buscemi at 413-531-7640 or complete the form below.
I choose to volunteer because the Friends have made such an impact on my life. They offer support, guidance, encouragement and a unique friendship which will continue for years to come.
Just knowing I am helping, giving back and seeing smiles on so many people’s faces brings a smile to my heart and my face.
