Planned Giving
Planned giving, also known as legacy giving, enables individuals to make larger gifts to favorite charities than they could or may want to make from their current income. A planned gift for a charitable organization can be made during someone’s lifetime or at death as part of the donor’s estate and tax plan. Such gift planning often provides income tax savings on current income and/or minimizes estate tax at the donor’s death. The most common type of planned giving is through a will or trust. This provides resources for one’s favorite charity once the donor has passed away and leaves a legacy in the donor’s name, thereby enabling the charity to continue its mission into the future. With the growing senior population of South Hadley comes the growing needs of more seniors. Please consider making a planned gift to the Friends of the South Hadley Seniors.
